There is more than the eye can behold for photographers and individuals wanting to get in touch with nature.   The North Umpqua Region has waterfalls, rivers, streams, lakes, wildlife, forest, wildflowers, farms, ranches, hills, mountains and much, much more.  Check out the "Colliding Rivers" where the North Umpqua River and Little River come together in Glide.  It is just one of the many interesting sights in  the North Umpqua region.  Take a  hike on the North Umpqua Trail through lush forest or to the hot springs for a soak.
     Visit the Indian ritual mounds, Zane Gray's camp grounds, old  mines, and  the covered bridges.  Also close by is the historic Rock Creek Fish Hatchery in  Idleyld Park where you can visit and watch them prepare the fish for return to the river.
For recreation in the North Umpqua area there is white water river rafting, river floats, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, drift boat fishing, fly fishing and swimming,  all offered in the North Umpqua Region.  Local Guides are available to help with all your recreational needs.
     For  those who like their entertainment more organized,  close by  Glide and Idleyld Park, there are the Forest tour, Lumber Mill tour, Wildlife Safari, Seven Feathers Gaming Center,  Wineries, the Douglas County Fair Grounds, Museums, and Roseburg's Art Center.   There are many special events well worth attending through out the year.  The first event of the winter is the Christmas Light Festival,  in the spring Glide's Wildflower Show, June Roseburg's Arts Festival, come summer attend Graffiti Days, rodeos and the county fair.  A must during the summer is the Tuesday's Concert in the Half Shell, a definite do not miss events. 
     It's an easy day trip to Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake, or the Ocean Beaches, so come stay in the North Umpqua Region and experience a perfect vacation getaway.  This area is still uncrowded,  much like it was 50 years ago.  Come and enjoy .  Let us share the beautiful scenic North Umpqua  Region with  you.
