North Umpqua Business Association
"Working Together To Achieve Common Goals"
Mission
Statement
"Working Together To
Achieve Common Goals."
The North Umpqua Business Association, known as NUBA, originally
came together in September of 1998 during "Cycle Oregon".
A bike tour of over 2,000 people was brought to our area. Through
that experience, the businesses learned we would be more effectively
recognized if we joined together; thus, NUBA was
created. We have steadily grown, and are proud of our achievements
in the eastern
Douglas
County, most notably a grant for "Strategic Planning" for the North
Umpqua area of Glide and Idleyld
Park. The North Umpqua Region; Glide, Idleyld Park, and Diamond
Lake are on Scenic State Hwy. 138, in Douglas County, Southern
Oregon. Douglas
County
is located in the Southeastern corner of
Southern Oregon
.
We are 16 miles east of
Roseburg, 80+ miles southeast of
Eugene
and about 100+ miles inland from the Pacific
Coastal
Shores
or Eastern Oregon Hwy. 97. The North Umpqua area is easily
accessible via Interstate 5 or State Hwy. 97, on Scenic State Highway 138
en route to
Diamond
Lake
and Crater Lake
National Park. Just keep coming west to see the wild and scenic
North Umpqua. This region of Southern Oregon offers spectacular terrain
from the majestic Cascade Mountains to the lush
Umpqua
National Forest
to the captivating Diamond Peak Wilderness Area to the sparkling North
Umpqua
River
and many Water
Falls. With a population of about 4,000 the area enjoys the advantages
of a thriving and self-sufficient urban lifestyle, with the
convenience of larger cities within close proximity.
